Boitnott, Gruber serve new VEA terms

VEA President Kitty Boitnott and VEA Vice President Meg Gruber will serve new, two-year terms in their current positions beginning August 1. Both ran for re-election unopposed and thus were declared elected by the VEA Board of Directors.

Boitnott, the only NEA state affiliate president in the nation to have earned both a PhD and national certification, is a library media specialist from Henrico County. She’s also worked in public schools in her native Franklin County and in Roanoke County.

Gruber, a high school earth science teacher from Prince William County, is a former member of the Board of Directors of both VEA and NEA.

Also running unopposed, for a second term as one of Virginia’s representatives on the NEA Board of Directors, was Lee Dorman, a middle school science teacher from Arlington. She will serve a three-year term beginning September 1.
