Speak Out at Regional Hearings on Virginia’s Standards of Quality

The Virginia Standards of Quality (SOQ) provide the foundation for school programs in Virginia. The Virginia Board of Education is holding regional hearings this month to hear public comments on how the SOQ should be revised. These hearings are a rare and significant opportunity to stand up for adequate funding for our schools. We encourage you to attend and speak at the hearings. Details follow:

Speaking Out

VEA offered testimony this summer to the Board of Education’s SOQ subcommittee. Review those remarks here. They offer the facts and figures, but your testimony should center on how Virginia’s low level of state support for our schools is affecting the students you teach and the services you provide.
