In 2020, the Virginia General Assembly lifted the ban on collective bargaining for some public sector employees, including public educators. Collective bargaining allows you and your colleagues to negotiate with the school division for better wages, hours, and working conditions.
Bargaining won’t happen automatically, though. We have to organize, petition the school board, win an election, and actually bargain the contract. We need your help to make collective bargaining a reality in Virginia.
