Delegate Rodney Willett,
Thank you for your continued legislative advocacy on behalf of our students and public schools!
Because of you, Virginia successfully reduced our Standards of Quality funding gap, giving schools the resources they need to support student success. The General Assembly is now more committed than ever to fully funding much-needed programs and school personnel. This includes your support for a long overdue raise for teachers and SOQ staff, making Virginia more competitive and recognizing the value of our public education professionals.
Thank you for supporting a COVID-19 impact study, making sure the effects of the pandemic on our students and schools is carefully examined and counteracted. Because of your advocacy, students returned to in person instruction safely.
Thank you for your continued support of our students!
According to the Economic Policy Institute, teachers in Virginia earn 67 cents on the dollar compared to other (non-teacher) college-educated workers. Virginia’s teacher wage penalty is the worst in the nation.
